I was an enthusiastic runner and ran 3 marathons within 4 months of each other, having never run a marathon before.  The first gave me a false sense of security so I pushed myself further. As a result, I suffered from sciatica and was off the roads for more than a year. I could not run 500 meters without suffering unbearable pain.

I decided to get help at the gym where I had membership and scanned the board for trainers who had suffered injuries themselves.  Dylan assessed my issues with meticulous scrutiny and started training my body in a manner that focused on my issues - in particular, functional fitness. A young and intimidated individual, wondering the functional floor, without a plan or idea on how most of the machines in the gym worked. I blended into the background, watching the chiselled bodies at work with hopes that one day I too would have the confidence and determination to look myself in the mirror as I sweat towards the body of my dreams.

A number of sessions at the gym, I quickly came to realise I needed help, before self-doubt and fear could get the best of me. A kind gentleman at the reception gave me a referral for a trainer whom he believed to be exactly what I needed.

Dylan is the trainer that everyone deserves to experience during their fitness journey. The first few sessions, Dylan took me through an initial physical assessment and curated a eating plan and exercise programme that would consider my means and ultimate goals from the interaction.

Training involved warm up and mobility drills, assessing range of motion and improving any limitations. Key focus on correct form of exercises, followed by ultimate increase in power, strength, and endurance. Wherever personal shortfalls from injuries would arise, Dylan would consider and redirect exercise to relieve tension on ailing joints but still target intended muscles groups.

Dylan never turns down an opportunity to improve his craft. Therefore, as one of his clients, one gets to learn current and most effective techniques as Dylan sought out further training and courses from world class experts.

Countless sessions later, I am pleased to report back that Dylan has helped groom my self-esteem, confidence, and pride. Since my fitness journey, I have managed to gain approximately 20 kg of lean muscle; knowledge that I can impart to others and most importantly a friend in Dylan.

Coming from a background of professional tennis and CrossFit training, hitting the gym was something new for me. I had a bad knee injury, no flexibility and nerd-neck too. I went to the gym 5 days a week for 4 months with no real improvement, till I met Dylan.

Dylan was very patient with me. He did a Physical assessment, and without me telling him, Dylan could see where my problems where. He also understood my bad knee and how to work around it as well as how to strengthen it. Dylan helped me get rid of my nerd neck for the first time in my life, and he did it in two months.

After training with him I had a pain free knee and so much more mobility. He taught me awesome technics and good form and I looked and felt great. I would recommend Dylan for anyone with or without injuries. But if you got an injury, he is your man! Also, such a positive guy and great personality!
